Practice Policies
Parent/Guardian Accompaniment
Please do NOT drop off a swimmer for practice more than 10 minutes in advance. Children under the age of 12 are not allowed in or around the pool without parent or specified adult supervision. This can include a parent, babysitter or neighbor. But you must have SOMEONE at the pool that is keeping watch of your child. We require this for the safety of your children.
If parents have questions about the coaches and/or their coaching methods, please address them with a coordinator first. During practice, the coaches’ time is to be spent teaching our swimmers, so please refrain from distracting them during these short sessions. No parents are allowed on the pool deck. Please remain in the pavilion area. This is so the coaches and swimmers can get full attention during swim practice.
Swimmers will not be allowed in any part of the water unless it is their specified practice time.
Swimmers should never play in spillway or parking lots, as this is a safety hazard.
Behavior
Swimmers are to show respect for all coaches, coordinators, and fellow swimmers.
Swimmers should please pay attention during coach instruction, as any talking is distracting to others around who are trying to learn. Use of any electronic device during practice is not allowed.
Inclement Weather
Summer weather can often be very unpredictable. Practices and meets will take place even in light rain. If it is raining heavily or if we experience thunderstorms, practices and/or meets will most likely be delayed or possibly cancelled. Swimmers need to be out of the pool for at least 30 minutes each time thunder is heard. So, in order to get information out to everyone quickly while we're at the pool or at meets, please download the SwimTopia mobile app. The mobile app will allow you to receive instant notifications regarding practice, meet and weather changes.
