About

Waterford Green Gators Swim

WG Gators Swim is a Summer Swim Team that encourages friendship and teamwork while learning vital swim skills to compete in league meets. Join us to  experience the magic that happens from mid May to the end of June. It's a time filled with late nights, competition, and gathering with friends both old and new. Neighborhood swimmers from ages 4 to 18 have been sharing in this fun, annual tradition known as Waterford Green Gators Summer Swim.

Why Choose Summer Swim?

Have fun! All levels of swimmers are encouraged to participate, from beginner to advanced. Our team is fun!

Builds strong swimmers! Kids 4 years and older may participate in practices and kids 5 years and older may participate in swim meets. Many young kids advance from the aid of a kickboard to swimming independently in a matter of weeks!

Meet new neighbors! With daily practices and weekly swim meets, you’ll meet other neighborhood families.

What Makes Summer Swim Special?

For it's here, in your neighborhood pool, where a love of this great sport is often fostered. Coaches teach kids how to dive, reach for the wall and break through the "scary" factor of swimming across a 25 yard pool. Summer swim is where it all begins.

It’s where you learn how to give something your all. You learn how to swim your heart out, maybe come up short and lose with dignity, or win with grace. Both teach CHARACTER.

It's during summer swim, where you might have gotten your very first taste of what it feels like to be a part of a TEAM. It’s about more than you. You learn how to race for something more than yourself - a lesson you can carry forth in the next chapter of your life.

Summer swimming builds COMMUNITY. In a world where we all race from place to place and rush through lives at a rapid pace, a summer meet naturally forces us to slow down. You get to know your neighbors well when you spend 3 to 4 quality hours with them on those weekday swim meet nights.

And finally, MEMORIES will be made for all swim families. Your once shy 4 year old who was afraid to put their head under the water is now that confident coach about to graduate from high school. And it’s in these moments that it’s your turn to show them the pure joy of swimming – to pass it on.
